Intel’s new diversity chief on the secrets to hiring and retaining

In a Silicon Valley technology industry dominated by white men, even limited progress on diversity is cause for celebration. Santa Clara semiconductor giant Intel has chalked up progress bringing on and keeping women and minorities, increasing its proportion of women by 9 percent since 2015, its proportion of African Americans by 31 percent, its proportion of Hispanics by 11 percent and its proportion of Native Americans by 40 percent.
